Janet has held non-executive directorships with South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive and Renaissance South Yorkshire (an Urban Regeneration Company), and was a member of the Programme Monitoring Board overseeing the investment of £1bn of European Community Objective 1 funding in South Yorkshire. She founded and chaired the South Yorkshire Housing Regeneration Partnership, and was a member of the Board of Transform South Yorkshire, the Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder.
